About Eric Lefkofsky

Eric Lefkofsky, age 37, is currently the President of Blue Media, LLC, a Chicago based private equity and consulting firm focused on applying technology to service oriented business models. Through Blue Media, and its related subsidiaries, Mr. Lefkofsky plays an active role in managing the operations of several large technology firms, including InnerWorkings (NASDAQ: INWK), an enterprise print management firm with over 2000 clients worldwide, Echo Global, a logistics provider that uses technology and global labor to automate the transportation marketplace, and MediaBank, an electronic exchange and database that automates the procurement and administration of advertising media.

Mr. Lefkofsky was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Halo Industries, Inc., an NYSE listed company and the largest promotional products supplier in the world. In addition to the Promotional Products business that Mr. Lefkofsky helped manage, he also oversaw Halo’s marketing services business with a significant presence in promotional advertising, digital media, telemarketing, and packaged marketing. Prior to Halo, Mr. Lefkofsky was the President, and a founding member, of Starbelly.com, which was sold to Halo Industries in May of 2000.  Mr. Lefkofsky graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and received his Juris Doctor at University of Michigan Law School. 

 

DePaul University Graduate Business School Course

Eric Lefkofsky is teaching an 11-week course at DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate Busines School School titled, "Applied Technology as a Point of Differentiation, Innovation and Leadership" that concentrates on the re-engineering of old business models to achieve dramatic growth in otherwise stagnant and highly fragmented markets.

The course focuses on turning conventional businesses into e-enabled businesses with technology serving as a catalyst to revolutionize the conventional business process. The course will offer students interested in entrepreneurship an opportunity to turn their ideas into actual practical working business models and solutions.

For purposes of utilizing the instructor’s domain expertise, the course will emphasis service oriented business models, such as finance, insurance, software, logistics, brokerage, professional services, etc.
